Book Review

The Future of Us

written by: Jay Asher & Carolyn Mackler

This is a book that I would recomend to anyone looking for a good read. This book is about two teenagers who struggle to figure out their present, and future. The Future of Us, by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler, is set in 1996. Back when most people had never used the internet (yes, there was such a time…way back 17 years ago). Two teenagers get an American Online CD -ROM. The minute they sign in, they are logged on to Facebook. But Facebook has not yet been invented. They can see what their future selves are saying, who they’re married to, what their lives are like. Not everyone’s future is their dream come true. Imagine seeing your friend’s futures, and not being able to tell them what mistakes they’re about to make. Every time they log on, something’s changed. How would you handle it? How would you do struggling to perfect your future, and not mess up your present?
