Great Matters of Grey Matter

-Hawaii and Alaska have the same record high temperature of 100°F (38°C). Maine’s record high is 105°F (41°C).
-Much as McDonald’s is the world’s largest toy distributor, Lego makes more tires than any other company, though they are just a few inches in diameter.
-Harriet, who holds the record for longest-living tortoise, died in 2005. She was originally called “Harry” by Charles Darwin who collected her in 1835 on a trip to the Galapagos Islands. He assumed she was a male.
-Portuguese Ferdinand Magellan, whose ships would make it around the world, enjoyed calm seas in the Pacific ocean and so named it Mar Pacifico or “Peaceful Sea.”
